Early-Morning Wreck Propels Vehicle into Jasper Building

Jasper - Early Friday morning, a vehicle wrecked into a building in downtown Jasper.


In a press release from the Jasper Police Department, just before 5:00 a.m., a 2006 Black Mazda jumped a curb, hit a crosswalk pole, and was "propelled" into a local building. The incident occurred on the Northwest corner of Newton Street and 6th Street.

The 32-year-old driver was uninjured at the scene. At this time, no citations or charges have been issued against the driver.

Jasper Police reported approximately $15,000 in damages to the building; the vehicle was totaled.
