Dubois County to Receive Millions of Dollars For Road, Infrastructure Projects

AREA WIDE -- Dubois County has received millions of dollars in road-funding grants from the state.

It’s all part of the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program.  The program aims to advance community infrastructure projects, strengthen local transportation networks and improve Hoosier roads and bridges.

In Senate District 48, the following funds were awarded…

 Huntingburg received $389,334.22;

·     Jasper received $456,249;

·        Knox County received $395,177.25;

·        Monroe City received $59,953.83;

·        Patoka received $79,390.87;

·        Petersburg received $62,650.27;

·        Pike County received $221,165.25;

·        Spencer County received $140,278.12; and

·        Warrick County received $508,847.20.

“This grant program is a great resource for Indiana counties and municipalities, no matter their size," state senator Mark Messmer said. "I have no doubt these projects will provide motorists with easier and safer routes to their destinations, and I look forward seeing the completion of these infrastructure projects."

Through the program, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs. Counties with populations fewer than 50,000 and cities and towns with populations fewer than 10,000 receive a 75%/25% match, while counties with populations of greater than 50,000 and cities and towns with populations of greater than 10,000 receive a 50%/50% match.
