Dubois County Still Struggling on the Jobs Front, 29 Counties Had Lower Unemployment in January

COUNTYWIDE -- Dubois County’s unemployment numbers were lower in January, but still higher than before the pandemic began.
Prior to the lockdowns, the county consistently had the lowest unemployment in the state. Now, there are 29 other counties with rates lower than ours.
In January, Dubois County saw an unemployment rate of 3.6%.
In our region, Daviess County had the lowest rate at 2.9%. Martin County reported 3.4% unemployment in January and Warrick County came in at 3.6%.
Spencer County saw 4.3% unemployment; 4.6% in Pike and Perry counties; and 5.9% in Orange County. They had the fifth highest unemployment rate in the state in January.
