Dubois County Reports Single-Day Record 173 COVID Cases in Tuesday Update

Dubois Co. - Dubois County reported a single-day record of 173 COVID-19 cases in Tuesday's update from the Indiana Department of Health.


A pandemic high, Tuesday's cases push the pandemic total close to the 11,000 case threshold at 10,954. The county has also seen a pandemic-high of an average of 120 new cases per day over the past week. The positivity percentage for unique individuals sits at 48.8%.


Dubois County recorded zero deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Tuesday's update. The county has seen two deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the month of January. Dubois has recorded a total of 152 deaths due to the coronavirus over the course of the pandemic.

Statewide, Indiana reported 12,126 new cases and 77 deaths. Indiana currently has 3,460 individuals in the hospital with COVID-19. According to the IDH's latest breakdown on variant activity, Omicron was detected in 82% of tested samples.
