Dubois County Records 78 New Cases as Memorial Hospital Updates Hospitalizations

Dubois Co. - In Thursday's update from the Indiana Department of Health, Dubois County recorded 78 COVID-19 cases and zero deaths.


Though this week's numbers have slowed from last week's peaks, Dubois County has still averaged 98 new cases per day over the past seven days. The county has recorded 11,937 cases over the course over the pandemic.


Dubois County recorded zero deaths in Thursday's update. The county had seen back-to-back reports with a death this week. Dubois has seen 154 deaths attributed to COVID-19, four of which occurred in January of 2022.

Statewide, Indiana reported 12,230 cases and 104 deaths attributed to the coronavirus.


Memorial Hospital

On Thursday, Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center provided a current update reflecting COVID hospitalizations in the area. As of January 24th, 17 individuals had been hospitalized with COVID-19.

Of those 17 people hospitalized, 11 had been vaccinated; six had not. Of the seven patients in the ICU, four had been vaccinated. 

The average age of hospitalized individuals was 68.
