Dubois County Records 148 COVID Cases in Friday Update

Dubois Co. - In Friday's update from the Indiana Department of Health, Dubois County recorded 148 cases and zero deaths attributed to COVID-19.


Since Tuesday's report, the county has seen 496 positive cases - averaging 124 cases per report. According to the IDH dashboard, the morning average for new cases has risen to 97, the highest peak during the pandemic.


  While case numbers have sharply risen, deaths attributed to COVID-19 have tailed off within the county. December saw an increase of deaths, though the county has not seen a recorded death in two weeks.


Dubois County, along with every other county in Southwestern Indiana, is under a Red Advisory. At the time of Wednesday's dashboard update, Dubois County had averaged 1,139 cases per 100,000 residents and a positivity percentage of 19.49%.

Statewide, Indiana reported 15,926 positive cases and 97 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
