Dubois County Humane Society Welcomes New Executive Director
The Dubois County Humane Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelly Eckerle-Dixon as its new Executive Director. With a background in animal welfare and a passion for serving the community, Kelly brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the organization. As the new Executive Director of the Dubois County Humane Society, she will oversee operations, develop strategic initiatives including the new Spay and Neuter Clinic, and work to further the organization's mission of providing compassionate care and advocacy for animals in need throughout Dubois County.
"We are thrilled to welcome Kelly as our new Executive Director," said Jordan Wehr, President of the Board of Directors. "With her proven leadership skills while serving as Shelter Manager since January 2021 and her commitment to animal welfare, we are confident that she will lead DCHS to new heights and make a lasting impact in our community. We look forward to her guidance and vision as we continue our important work of saving and improving the lives of animals in Dubois County."
Eckerle-Dixon officially assumed the role of Executive Director on February 12, 2024. The Shelter is located at 426 Wernsing Road, Jasper and the Spay and Neuter Clinic is located at 509 W 9th St, Jasper.
“DCHS has been a home away from home to me since I was a child,” says Eckerle. “It is truly an honor to be stepping into this position, as DCHS is responsible for so much of who I am. We are in the middle of such an exciting season of change and growth at the shelter. We opened our Spay and Neuter clinic this month, and we also celebrate our 50th Anniversary this year! I am over the moon to help the shelter continue to grow and achieve goals. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for the next 50 years of DCHS.”
