Dubois County Deputies to Step Up Patrols For Seat Belt Violators in May
From Local Sources
DUBOIS COUNTY -- The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office will be out in full force this month looking for people not wearing a seat belt.
It’s all part of the national Click It or Ticket campaign.
Deputies will look for unrestrained passengers in cars and trucks, in the front seat or back, and both day and night.
They want everyone wearing a seat belt, children and adults. It’s Indiana law.
People not wearing seat belts are 10 times more likely to die in a car crash; 14 times more likely in a pickup truck and 15 times more likely to die in a van.
The Click It or Ticket patrols will continue through Memorial Day, which officially kicks off the summer travel season.
