Dubois Board of Commissioners Approves Precinct Update Within the County

Jasper - Tuesday, the Board of Commissioners of Dubois County convened for a special session to establish updates to the precinct boundaries and districts within the county.

Necessary after every U.S. Census, once per decade, the Board of Commissioners reviewed a plan involving minor tweaks occurring since the last update in 2011.

Among the changes over the course of a decade, Jasper annexed a field containing one house, with another being built earlier in 2021. This would move the annexed area from Madison 2 into Madison Jasper North.

In the 2018 annexation, Bainbridge was made into a split precinct, Bainbridge 1.0 and Bainbridge 1.1. Possible confusion between the two similar precincts led to the decision to roll Bainbridge 1.1 into Bainbridge 4 South.

This motion was carried by the Dubois County Board of Directors.

The changes will take effect on January 1, 2022.
