Driver Arrested on Felony OWI Charge Following Three Vehicle Crash in Jasper, Had Minor in the Vehicle

JASPER -- A Jasper man was arrested last night following a drunk driving crash on U.S. 231. 

Police say a minor was in the vehicle when it happened.

The call for help came in just after 6:30 p.m. yesterday from the intersection of 231 and Indiana Street.

Police say Oscar Delgado of Jasper failed the yield the right of way to an Illinois man driving a semi and the two crashed.  Delgado’s vehicle then spun into a third vehicle being driven by an Oklahoma man.

Delgado’s blood alcohol content was .17.  The legal driving limit is .08.

The man is charged with felony OWI with a Passenger Under the Age of 18.  He’s also facing misdemeanor counts of OWI and OWI Endangerment.    

Luckily, no one was injured in the crash.
