Demotte To Become next GJCS Board Attorney, Leaving Vacant School Board Seat

Jasper- At Monday’s School Board meeting, Greater Jasper Consolidated Board Members voted to approve the appointment of Attorney and board member Tim Demotte to be the next attorney for the board. 

Demotte will be replacing current board legal counsel Art Nordhoff, who will be retiring. Demotte is a defense, personal injury, and family attorney in Jasper with Demotte Law Offices.

“Tim is a local attorney,” said GJCS Superintendent Dr. Tracy Lorey, “He has experience as a board member. He expressed some interest in stepping into that position.”

Demotte’s new position leaves a vacant seat on the board for the Bainbridge Township-District 4 seat. The school board is now accepting applications from those in the township district to fill the spot starting August 1st. The term will run until December 31, 2024. 

Those interested in applying can do so through a downloadable application on the GJCS website or by emailing Dr. Lorey at [email protected]. Applications are due by 3:00 PM EST on Friday, June 9th. They can be delivered to the GJCS Central Office or emailed to Dr. Lorey.
