Jasper- Dubois County Pride is gearing up for the 2023 Pride Fest.
DC Pride, which was designated a non-profit organization this year, will be celebrating Pride Fest at the Dave Buehler Plaza on Jasper’s Riverwalk. The move comes after the group outgrew its old location at Jaycee Park.
“I believe 2019 was the first one and it was a pool party,” said DC Pride President Mary Warner, “We started with a couple hundred people and we estimate we had a couple thousand last year (2022). So, we’re expecting that plus.”
Pride fest will feature kid friendly activities when it begins on June 24th. Live music by Southern Indiana’s The Rumors and DJ Chidi are planned, along with an aerial performance from the Turners Circus. Also on hand will be an inflatable slide, food trucks, mural and face painting, a pet parade, and informational booths.
“It’s a live, vibrant, colorful celebration,” Warner said, “We want as much energy and fun for everyone.”
Pride Fest will be from 1:00 to 7:00 PM EST. More information can be found on the Dubois County Pride Facebook page.
