DC Multisport Plans NEW Kayak & Canoe Race at the Ferdinand State Forest

Jasper- DC Multisport has announced a new event inviting paddlers of all levels to participate in “Loop the Lake”, a non-sanctioned, recreational kayak and canoe race.  

The event will take place Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the Ferdinand State Forest beginning at 9am EST. The event is open to all ages and skill levels. Paddlers under the  

age of 18 require a waiver signed by a parent/guardian.

Canoe Race 

Men’s tandem 

Women’s tandem 

Mixed tandem 

Kayak Race 

Men’s single 

Women’s single 

The race is approximately 2 miles, taking the participants counterclockwise around the lake for two laps. Awards will be  given to the top three finishers in each category with the fastest times. Preliminary heats will be determined in advance  based on the number of entries. 

The fee to participate is $20 per person per event and includes a giveaway. Registration deadline is May 31, 2023. Proceeds from the event will go to support special projects in the Ferdinand State Forest.  

A “Loop the Lake After-Party” will take place at St. Benedicts Brew Works, located on the grounds of the Monastery  Immaculate Conception, starting at approx. 3pm.
