Daviess County Poet Among 30 Added to Indiana Digital Poetry Archive
Daviess County's Ken Graber had three poems added to the registry: "Residue", "The Sapping", and "The Second July". Graber was the sole Southwestern Indiana resident to have his works to the state's database.

An initiative of former Indiana Poet Laureate Adrian Matejka, INverse celebrates and preserves the diverse range of Indiana poetry for future generations of Indiana writers and readers. “The Indiana State Library is pleased to partner for a second year with the Indiana Arts Commission on this project. The INverse Poetry Archive is important in preserving the work of Indiana poets for the benefit of future generations,” said Jacob Speer, Indiana State Librarian. “'May you live in interesting times.' For better or worse, this ancient Chinese proverb certainly holds true today. The INverse Poetry Archive is therefore more important than ever, showcasing and preserving the hopes and fears, and prayers and predictions of the residents of our state for the future,” said Poet Laureate Matthew Graham. “Once again, the archive reflects the rich and diverse creative spirit of Indiana. I am especially pleased to see the inclusion of younger voices represented by the Poetry Ourselves program." Residents of Indiana are encouraged to submit poems to the archive annually between February 1 and April 30. To view the archive, click here. |
