Daviess County Health Department and Purdue Extension-Daviess County honored for public health partnership
The Daviess County Health Department and Purdue Extension-Daviess
County received a Public Health Partnership award for outstanding partnership to advance
community health from State Health Commissioner Lindsay Weaver, M.D., FACEP.
“Together, the Daviess County Health Department and Purdue Extension-Daviess County
created the Rooted Project to link community members to a wide range of local resources and
support, providing them a strong foundation to grow and flourish,” said Deputy Health
Commissioner of Local Health Services Pam Pontones. “The daily connections and integrated
work with public health, schools, churches, businesses, and community partners give life-
changing opportunities of better health for all.”
The award was given during Public Health Day at the Statehouse on Feb. 22 where public
health advocates from across Indiana gathered to celebrate the important role public health
plays in Hoosiers’ daily lives and learn more about efforts underway to improve how services
are delivered around the state.
