Cummins to Close Columbus Factory Through Early April Due to COVID-19 Fears

COLUMBUS -- Another factory shutdown, caused by COVID-19.
Cummins will close its mid-range engine plant in Walesboro at 10 p.m. Friday, reports The Republic newspaper. The shutdown is due to the closure of the Chrysler plant in Detroit, which uses Cummins' Dodge Ram engine.
The plant will stay closed until Monday, April 6.
Cummins says workers will be paid during the shutdown.
