Crash Tuesday Morning Sends One To the Hospital, Causes Traffic Backups on U.S. 231

JASPER -- We're learning more about a serious accident Tuesday morning on U.S. 231 in Jasper.
It happened around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection with SR 162.
Police say a Washington, Indiana woman ran a red light in her Jeep Wrangler and struck a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a Ferdinand woman. She was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The woman who ran the red light wasn't hurt. She was cited for running that light.
Both vehicles were totaled in the crash.
Traffic was backed up for a time as crews cleaned up the scene and investigated the accident.
