COMMUNITY FOUNDATION RECEIVES $400,000 GIFT FROM LANGE ESTATE

Dubois Co.- Dubois County Community Foundation recently received a generous donation from the estate of Clement M. “Clem” Lange, the founder of Best Chairs, Inc., d/b/a Best Home Furnishings. The $400,000 gift is the largest single contribution to the Community Foundation this year.

The gift is designated for the Clem and Mary Lange Best Chairs Endowment for the Benefit of Ferdinand, Holland, and St. Henry, an endowment established in 2002 by Clement and Mary C. Lange.

The Community Foundation will invest the estate gift allowing it to grow and provide an annual grant for charitable projects in Ferdinand, Holland, and St. Henry as advised by the Lange family.

“Clem always believed in directly supporting the communities of Best employees and their families,” said Mary C. Lange. “Since the establishment of the endowment, funding for numerous projects have helped improve the overall quality of life. And now with this donation, and with the help of the Community Foundation, Clem’s legacy will continue to benefit our area for many years to come,” Lange said.

“The impact of this gift will be felt on our community for generations,” Clayton Boyles, community foundation executive director said. “It is a great honor for the Community Foundation to have been named in the Lange estate. “We’re grateful to Clem and the entire Lange family for this generous gift to our community,” Boyles said.
