Collignon Named Rotary Club of Dubois County President

Dubois Co.- Dan Collignon officially became the new president of the Rotary Club of Dubois County for the 2023-2024 term at the club’s recent weekly meeting on Thursday, June 29th.

Collignon, Regional Executive Vice President for German American Bank, succeeds Joyce Fleck, Executive Director of TRI-CAP. Collignon has been a member of the Rotary Club of Dubois County for 17 years and looks forward to leading such an active group. “It’s an honor for me to take over as President for such a committed group of professionals,” said Collignon. “The impact the Rotary Club of Dubois County has on our community is impressive, and we look forward to building and growing upon an already strong foundation.”

The Rotary Club of Dubois County had a very successful year with Fleck at the helm. “It has been my honor and pleasure to lead the Rotary Club of Dubois County, which is comprised of exceptional servant leaders,” said Fleck. “Together, this mighty team organizes FUNctions and FUNdraisers all for the benefit of our community at large.”

In addition to passing the gavel to Collignon, Fleck recognized Derek Budd as “Rotarian of the Year”. Budd went above and beyond by acting as club Treasurer, hosting a social, volunteering, and co-chairing the IU Economic Forecast Luncheon and the Clay Shoot.

The principal motto of Rotary is “Service Above Self,” and the Rotary Club of Dubois County embodied that in the last year from start to finish. In August, the tenth annual ATHENA Leadership Awards Banquet was held where Rossina Sandoval Monsivais was honored as the 2022 recipient. In September, the club officially changed its name from Rotary Club of Jasper to Rotary Club of Dubois County to better represent its members and the community they serve. In October, the club sponsored two local students to attend RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Academy) and granted $9,945.00 to three local nonprofits (SWICACC, Pine Crest Elementary School, and Crisis Connection) through their Community Grants Program. In November, the 18th Annual Economic Forecast Luncheon was hosted in partnership with the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. In February, the Speech Contest returned with first prize being awarded to Jasper High School Senior, Kaleigh Dunn. Two more events that made a comeback this year in April were the Clay Shoot, hosted at OFS Cool Springs, and a Leadership Luncheon featuring Joe Carley. The club wrapped up its Rotary year and kicks off the next year with the Rotary Club of Dubois County’s Cornhole Tournament of Champions, which still has three locations left in the tournament this summer. The Rotary Club of Dubois County is also a continued proud partner with the Jasper High School Interact Club and continues to do great work fundraising for Rotary International. The club’s momentum continued throughout the year with the addition of four new and two returning club members.
