City of Jasper Appoints Director of Community Development and Planning

Jasper- The City of Jasper proudly announces the appointment of Josh Gunselman as the new Director of Community Development and Planning.  

With over 14 years of dedicated service on the Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning Commission, including 7 years as Chairman, Josh's extensive experience and understanding of zoning regulations and  planning processes make him an exceptional candidate for this vital leadership role. 

In his role as Director of Community Development and Planning, Josh will oversee the administration of  the city's comprehensive plan and unified development ordinance, ensuring adherence to zoning  regulations and fostering sustainable growth. He will facilitate informed decision-making and  collaborative efforts by providing support to the Planning Commission, Jasper Board of Zoning Appeals  (BZA), Economic Development Commission, and Redevelopment Commission.

Josh's primary focus will be building strong partnerships with various stakeholders, including businesses,  non-profits, educational institutions, community groups, residents, and state/local leaders. By fostering  collaboration and engagement, he aims to identify new development opportunities, attract investments,  

and align community development efforts with the economic growth and revitalization strategies outlined in the Jasper Comprehensive Plan.
