CARES showing off 2 student videos

In recognition of National Prevention Week, the Dubois County Coalition for Adolescent Resilience and Empowerment Strategies has posted two student-created videos to duboiscountyCARES.org and the Dubois County CARES Facebook page.

The first video, “One Night of Fun,” was created by Wildcat CARES at Jasper High School. It includes various JHS coaches talking about the many pitfalls of using alcohol and drugs. The second video, “Red Ribbon Week,” was recorded by Raider CARES at Southridge High School. It illustrates ways to say No to substances and gives tips for choosing healthy alternatives to using alcohol or drugs.

National Prevention Week, May 12 to 18, is designated to showcase the work of organizations that are engaged in preventing substance misuse and promoting positive mental health. The week is sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration as a way to celebrate the acts of prevention that happen every day across the country.

Dubois County CARES is one of the organizations involved in this work. Its overarching mission is to prevent youth from using alcohol or drugs.
