Camelot Inn Apartments Nearing Completion

Jasper- Crested on the hill overlooking Calumet Lake, sits one of Jasper’s most historic sites.

The former Camelot Inn was purchased in 2022 by Premier Property Management, which is owned by Ruger Kerstiens. 

Work to restore the 1960s inn began earlier this year. 

“When we purchased this property a year and a half ago, there were still some residents here,” Kerstiens said, “Once they relocated, we gutted everything down to the studs.”

Kerstiens says since the former motel has been changed to an apartment complex, there are not as many rooms as there once were. 

There are a few different options for rent seekers. There are the standard apartments which nestle North Mill Street, bungalows, and even a stand alone unit on the far west side of the complex. 

Pricing for these units start at $725 for rent a month. That includes water, sewer, and trash. Electricity and internet will be paid for by residents. 

Those who remember the Camelot can drive through the site to relish in what used to be.

“Come drive through and check it out,” Kerstiens said, “It’s nostalgic, we’re naming it the Camelot Inn Apartments, keeping the name and the feel. We preserved the buildings and brought them back to life. I’m excited for the community to come back through and see it like it was back in the sixties.”

As of Friday, the Camelot Inn Apartments are set to open in August.
