California Man Batters Law Enforcement in Jasper
Jasper- The Jasper Police arrested a California man Saturday morning.
Officers were dispatched to a field behind Vincennes University Jasper after receiving reports of a suspicious vehicle in the field. Officers say the man left the vehicle and traveled on foot down University Drive.
Police caught up with him near Gun Club Road and identified him as 19-year-old Joseph Roy of California. Officers believe Roy drove through the field from Maple Crest Blvd.
He was transported to the hospital for medical clearance. During the clearance, officials report he battered hospital staff and law enforcement.
Following clearance, Roy was charged with Battery on Law Enforcement, Battery, Resisting Law Enforcement, Escape, Criminal Mischief, Criminal Trespassing, Intimidation, and Disorderly Conduct.
