Cajun Style Restaurant Opens in Jasper

Jasper- The City of Jasper is becoming more diverse with its food options.
Tre’Vione’s, the newest addition to the city, was welcomed by the Jasper Chamber Members, Mayor Dean Vonderheide, and a representative from U.S. Representative Larry Buschon’s office.
The cajun restaurant is located in the former Hosty’s building, next to the Thyen-Clarke Cultural Center.
Owner Greg Banks first opened the restaurant in Tell City, but Jasper was an inviting and welcoming town.
“The people,” Banks said, “They were so accepting and awesome. It just made sense.”
Tre’Vione, according to Banks, means better than good. That is what he wants people to say about his food.
“When people say the food is good, I go whoa,” he shared, “What’s wrong with it? I want you to say it's more than good, I want you to say I’m coming back.”
Some of the spices Banks gets are traditional New Orleans spices he imports from the city. Others can be found right in the state of Indiana.
“In New Orleans, there is no special cajun store. Some of the spices and seafood is fresher, but the sassafras trees grow out here. I get a lot of my ingredients from New Orleans, like gator and crawfish, but the rest I get from right here,” said Banks.
Tre’Vione is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11am to 10pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 11am-11pm, and Sundays from 11am-6pm. Their menu can be found on their website.
