Battery at Miranda's Restaurant Leads to Assault with Deadly Weapon Charge for Jasper Man
Jasper - A Thursday evening verbal disagreement turned violent inside Miranda's Restaurant, leading to charges for a Jasper man.
Jasper Police Officers were dispatched to Miranda's Restaurant at 4:00 p.m. Thursday evening for a report of an individual battering an employee. According to the police report, witnesses say that Crandle Presnel, 43, of Jasper, had gotten into a verbal disagreement with a restaurant employee.
The disagreement turned violent when Presnel went behind the counter of the store and "began punching and kicking the victim in his groin area". Presnel proceded and alledgedly "grabbed a broom, with a wooden handle, and began striking the victim several times in the head and body", per the report.
Presnel left the store and surrendered to police without any further incident. Presnel was lodged in the Dubois County Security center on a felony charge of Battery with a Deadly Weapon and a misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct.
The condition of the victim has not been released at this time.
