Attempted Robbery in Jasper Convenience Store Leads to Charges for Tennessee Man
Jasper - An early morning robbery attempt at a Jasper convenience store led to charges for a Nashville, Tennessee man.
Monday morning at approximately 1:00am, Officers responded to Circle A Convenience Store on a report of an attempted Robbery. Prior to the arrival of officers, the suspect had fled. The suspect allegedly demanded money from
the clerks and advised that he had a gun with hollow point ammo. According to the Police report, the suspect never brandished a weapon. The clerk did not
provide any cash and the suspect ran from the store.
Jasper Police Department Bloodhound Makaya was utilized to conduct a track.
Makaya tracked the subject to the 3rd floor of the nearby Comfort INN hotel. Comfort INN staff advised
recent movement from the subjects in a third-floor toom. Officers made contact with the occupants of that room and located
3 subjects.
It was later confirmed with video evidence from Circle A that Antonio Espinoza, 23, of Nashville, Tennessee, was the individual making
the threats. Espinoza was found to have active arrest warrants through Dubois County. Subject was transported
to the Dubois Co Security Center with new charges of Attempted Robbery and Intimidation.
