Ash Wednesday and Lenten services announced
Local Sources- St. Boniface Parish and St. Meinrad Parish in Spencer County announce the Mass schedule for Ash Wednesday and Stations of the Cross during Lent. All times are Central Time.
On Ash Wednesday, February 22, 2023, Mass with the blessing and distribution of ashes is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. at Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda, and at 4:15 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. at St. Meinrad Catholic Church.
On Wednesdays during Lent, beginning March 8, students from select F3 (family faith formation) classes will gather in Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda at 6:30 p.m. to pray the Stations of the Cross. The public is welcome. On Palm Sunday, April 2, stations are prayed privately. Parish churches are open daily from dawn to dusk.
Lenten communal penance services for the Tell City Deanery will be held Wednesday, March 1, at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 5, at 3 p.m. at Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda, and on Sunday, March 12, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Tell City.
Also, communal penance services are scheduled at these churches on:
- Sunday, March 19, at 4 p.m., St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dale;
- Sunday, March 5, at 3 p.m., St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, Ferdinand;
- Wednesday, March 29, at 11 a.m., Holy Family Catholic Church, Jasper. All times are Central.
During Lent, confessions are also available Wednesday 11:40 a.m.-12:10 p.m. and 4:30-5 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City.
Confessions are available weekly at these locations: Wednesday, 3:30-4 p.m. at St. Meinrad Catholic Church; Saturday, 11:15 a.m. at St. Meinrad Catholic Church; and Saturday 3:15-3:45 p.m. at Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda.
