Area Woman Killed in Wednesday Morning Semi Accident in Daviess County

DAVIESS COUNTY -- A Loogootee woman was killed after crashing into a semi Wednesday morning in Daviess County.

It happened around 8:12 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. 231at Deerfield Drive near Odon.

Investigators say 64-year-old Brenda Fields struck the Freightliner, left the roadway, flipped and landed on its roof.  She was unresponsive at the scene at late pronounced dead by the county coroner.

The roadway was closed for a short period of time while police investigated the crash.

The driver of the Freightliner was not hurt.
