Area Teen Killed in Crash Friday Night in Knox County

KNOX COUNTY -- A Vincennes teen was killed in a crash Friday night.

It happened around 11:05 p.m. Friday on US 41 and St. Thomas Road just south of Vincennes.

Police say 18-year-old Evan James Twitty failed to yield the right-of-way and drove into the path of an International tractor-trailer.  That trailer was pushed off of the roadway before overturning.

The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle.  He was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The teen driver was pronounced dead at the scene.  Police say he was wearing his seatbelt.
