Area Teen Hospitalized With "Internal Head Injuries" Following Crash on Snowy Roads This Week

BEDFORD -- A Lawrence County teen suffered severe head injuries in a crash Wednesday in Bedford.

The Times-Mail reports it happened just after 4 p.m. at the intersection of 5th and W streets.

An elderly Bloomington woman told police the driver crossed into her lane in snowy conditions.  The two vehicles crashed.

The teen had to be sedated due to the extent of her “internal head injuries,” according to police reports.  Since the victim is 17, we are not releasing her name.

The elderly woman had to be extricated from her vehicle.  She was transported to the hospital for a blood draw.  Those results are pending.  She complained of knee pain. 

We’re not releasing her name because no charges have been filed against her.
