NEWBURGH -- Alcoa is selling a large chunk of its aluminum-making operations in southwestern Indiana.

The Pittsburgh-based company will sell the Warrick Operations rolling mill to Kaiser Aluminum Corporation in a deal worth $670 million.

The nearly 1,200 people working at the plant will become employees of Kaiser.

Alcoa said it will keep operating its aluminum smelter and coal-fired power plant at the site, which together have about 650 workers.
