ALERT: Social Security Administration Scam Targeting Area Residents

TELL CITY -- Tell City Police are warning residents about a phone scam going around.

In this scam, the caller says there has been fraudulent activity on the victim’s social security number and asks for personal information.

Police say you will not be called by the Social Security Administration for any legitimate business regarding your social security number.

Police remind you again, never give your personal information out over the phone, even if the number on the caller ID looks legit.
