ALERT: Expect Delays on Newton Street Next Week as Sewer Work Begins

JASPER -- The City of Jasper, along with its contractor, will be doing a storm sewer replacement project on Newton Street impacting the area from 8th Street to 9th Street starting Monday June 1st. 

This project will require lane closures, traffic pattern movements and intersection closures at times to facilitate the work and these restrictions will be in effect during daytime and nighttime hours. This project is expected to last one week, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances. 

The city apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause as the City of Jasper is aggressively pursuing infrastructure improvements with the recently installed water main project, this storm sewer project and the replacement of many segments of sidewalk along West 6th Street and Newton Street in advance of the Indiana Department of Transportation planned work on US 231 this Spring.
