ALERT: Area Could See Severe Weather, Tornadoes Thursday Afternoon - Thursday P.M.

BY: DAVID SHEPHERD, FORECASTER

AREA WIDE -- The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of northern Dubois County under a SLIGHT RISK of severe weather today.

An area of ENHANCED RISK has set up just to the south of Jasper and Huntingburg, including extreme southern portions of Dubois County and all of Spencer, Perry and Warrick Counties.

All severe weather hazards will be possible including hail, damaging winds, lightning and tornadoes.  This appears to be an evening event for us; most likely between 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.  That could change so stay up-to-date on the latest forecast.

We do have the elements in place for tornadic development over our region.

The Dubois County Emergency Management Agency wants everyone to have fresh batteries in their weather radios.
