ALASI Presents the 11th Annual Latino Culture Fest Labor Day Weekend

ALASI, Asociación Latinoamericana del Sur de Indiana, is thrilled to announce the upcoming 11th Annual Latino Culture Fest, set to take place on August 30th and 31st at Market Street Park in Huntingburg, Indiana. This festival celebrates the rich and diverse cultures of Latin America, offering a day full of music, dance, food, and community.

The 11th Annual Latino Culture Fest is a family-friendly event that invites everyone to immerse themselves in the vibrant traditions and customs of Latin American countries. Attendees can look forward to:

  • Live Entertainment: Enjoy a spectacular lineup of live performances, including traditional folkloric dances and local and regional Latin American acts. ALASI is excited to welcome La Sonora Dinamita de Colombia as the headlining act for both nights of the festival. Sonora Dinamita is a legendary Colombian musical group known for popularizing the genre of cumbia music across Latin America and the world. La Sonora Dinamita de Colombia will pay tribute to these traditional Colombian rhythms with vibrant, energetic performances that have captivated audiences for decades.
  • Authentic Latin American Cuisine: Savor the flavors of Latin America with a wide array of food from 15+ vendors, offering delicious dishes from various Latin American countries. From tacos and empanadas to arepas and elotes, there will be something for everyone.
  • Cultural Arts and Crafting: Local artisans will display their work, providing a unique opportunity to appreciate and purchase handcrafted items. Join in on the experience with various opportunities for handcrafting your own works of art.
  • Family Activities: The festival will feature fun and engaging activities for children and families, including face painting, friendly competitions, and interactive games. Bring the whole family for a day of entertainment and cultural enrichment.
  • Community Resources: New to the Latino Culture Fest this year is the “Bienvenidos Pavilion”. Learn about the valuable resources and services offered by ALASI and other local community organizations. Representatives will be available to provide information and answer questions about community programs and support services. Interpreters will be onsite to assist. 

Admission to the Latin American Culture Festival is free, and all are welcome to attend. We encourage everyone to join us for a day of celebration, cultural exchange, and community building.
