Additions, New Roles at WITZ Radio

Jasper/Huntingburg - New faces are being welcomed while new roles are being announced at WITZ/WQKZ/Radio Juan in Jasper/Huntingburg.


Already active within the community, the station has added two new account executives.


Irma Alanis, Account Executive



Irma Alanis joined the WITZ/WQKZ team in November, 2021 as an Account Executive. Irma grew up in Dale, but is originally from Mexico. She is an Oakland city University graduate with associates’ degree in early childhood education. She has worked in sales for over 6 years. Irma enjoys spending time with her son and family.



Deanna Baur, Account Executive


Deanna Baur is a new account executive for WITZ.  She received a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Indiana University.  Deanna has been with WITZ for the past 20 years as a part time broadcast engineer for WQKZ sports and has previous broadcasting experience as an on-air personality. 

Deanna is a native of Southern Indiana and currently resides in Holland with her husband, WITZ Morning personality Charlie Wayne.  They will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary later this year.  She loves spending time with family and friends.  She also enjoys being outdoors, gardening, cooking and is an avid IU basketball and Pittsburgh Steeler fan.



With the retirement of Walt Ferber, former News Director Kris Norton will be moving to the Sports Director position as well as serving as the voice of Jasper High School Athletics.

Kris Norton, Sports Director




Kris joined WITZ/WQKZ/Radio Juan in April 2021. After a year and a half working in International Falls, Minnesota, Kris is back in his home state, originally from Carmel. Prior to living in the “Icebox of the Nation”, Kris produced The Jeff and Big Joe Morning Show on 1070 The Fan in Indianapolis. 

An avid sports fan and broadcaster, Kris has called everything from State Title games at Lucas Oil Field to Semi-Pro Hockey in Ontario, Canada - including the Forest Park Girls Basketball state championship in 2021. 

On WITZ, Kris will be the new voice of Jasper High School Athletics, covering football, boys and girls basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, and boys and girls soccer.



With Kris moving to the new sports role, WITZ is welcoming a new News Director.


Corbin Lingenfelter, News and Public Information Director


Corbin comes to WITZ after graduating in May 2022 from the University of Indianapolis with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications with an emphasis on radio broadcasting. During his time at UIndy, he worked for the on- campus radio station, WICR, as an on-air talent, sportscaster and was the stations promotions director. 

He has called high school football, state championship games, and collegiate football and basketball over his four years with UIndy. He also worked for Emmis Communications in Indianapolis for The Fan, WIBC, and Network Indiana as a producer and sports anchor. He won or placed in multiple competitions for his play by play and interviews. 

In addition to News, Corbin will be the new “Voice of Forest Park” this upcoming fall on WQKZ for football and baseball. Coming from a small town (New Whiteland), he is excited to be a part of the Southwestern Indiana community. If you have a story idea, contact Corbin at [email protected].
