Kyle Busch Announces He'll Join IndyCar iRacing Challenge This Weekend
INDIANAPOLIS-- IndyCar’s virtual race this weekend at Twin Ring Motegi will feature one of NASCAR’s biggest stars in addition to a three-time Indianapolis 500 winner.
Kyle Busch announced he will join the IndyCar iRacing Challenge this Saturday, which will be run the virtual 1.5 mile oval Twin Ring Motegi in Japan.
Busch will compete in the number 51, with his energy drink "Rowdy Energy" on the side of the car.
Helio Castroneves will also make his first appearance on iRacing in the bright yellow Pennzoil number three machine. The three-time Indy 500 champ won at Motegi in 2010, the last time that IndyCar raced on the oval.
NBCSN will broadcast the race Saturday at 2:30. It’s the fourth of six races in the iRacing Challenge, and more than two dozen IndyCar drivers will compete. Simon Pagenaud, the 2019 Indy 500 winner, took the checkered flag last week from the virtual Michigan International Speedway.
