Jasper, Loogootee Officials selected to umpire 2A Baseball State Championship
Thursday morning via press release, the Southwestern Indiana Officials Association announced Pace Jenkins of Loogootee and Kevin Huelsman of Jasper have been selected to umpire in the IHSAA Baseball Finals this weekend at Victory Field in Indianapolis.
Jenkins will be the third base umpire and Huelsman behind the plate in the 4:30 p.m. Saturday 2A contest between Providence and Illiana Christian
This is the fourth Championship baseball assignment for Jenkins and third for Huelsman.
Pace also works the IHSAA tournament series in boys and girls basketball, while Kevin’s tournament assignments are in the sports of wrestling and volleyball. Both are members of the Southwestern Indiana Officials Association, active in the group as instructors and mentors to beginning officials.
A total of only sixteen officials are selected each year for the final games in four classes.
