Forest Park Football off to Strong Start after back to back wins
By: Corbin Lingenfelter
Ferdinand- For the first time since the 2020 season, Forest Park is 2-0 to start a football season.
The Rangers balanced offense and quick movements on defense helped them achieve a 35-0 win over Princeton in Week 1 and then again with a 37-26 win over Perry Central in Week 2.
The Rangers offense is led by the legs of Junior Tyler Fetter who has picked up 109 yards and 2 touchdowns through the early season. Junior Quarterback Aaron Tretter has bolstered a QBR of 105.8, completing 50% of his passes for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jaxon Lueken showed his work in the ground game against Perry Central, leading the Rangers in rushing with 74 yards and a touchdown.
One of the Rangers’ biggest advantages is discipline. Forest Park has won the penalty category in both games played this season.
The Rangers’ defense controlled the air in both contests. Senior Defensive Back Jace Berg has picked opposing Quarterbacks off in back to back games. Berg’s interception against Perry Central’s Cole Yeager was returned for a pick six.
Forest Park looks to go 3-0 for the first time since 2010 Friday against Tell City in their first of three straight road games. The Ranger Football Pregame Show will begin at 7:10 PM Eastern on 98.5 WQKZ and streamed live at wqkzfm.com.
