Cancellation: Evansville and Boonville storm damage, power outage cancelling select area sports

Jasper - An early round of severe storms has left scattered damage and power outages throughout the region and led to the closure of numerous Southwestern Indiana sports.

Both the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation and the Warrick County School Corporation have closed schools for today. EVSC has cancelled all athletic events for tonight.

Tuesday evening's Boys' and Girls' Track & Field meet between Jasper and Evansville Bosse has been cancelled in the wake of these storms. Jasper's Girls' Tennis match with Evansville Memorial has also been cancelled.


None of the Dubois County baseball teams will be playing tonight:

Forest Park - Forest Park at Gibson Southern, re-scheduled, April 12th at 6pm ET. B/G Track & Field vs. Heritage Hills has been postponed. Tennis vs. Washington postponed to April 19th.

Jasper - Jasper vs. Bloomington South, working on a re-schedule date. B/G Track & Field, Girls Tennis vs. Memorial have also been cancelled. Jasper vs. Heritage Hills has been cancelled.

Northeast Dubois - NE Dubois at Perry Central, postponed, no announced make-up date.  B/G Track & Field vs. Loogootee has been cancelled.

Southridge - Southridge vs. Tecumseh, postponed, no announced make-up date.


Perry Central has cancelled all events and practices, including the following: 

    -Boys' and Girls' Track & Field vs. North Harrison/Orleans, at Perry Central

    -Boys' Baseball vs. Northeast Dubois, at Perry Central        

South Spencer has cancelled all events and practices, including the following:

    -Girls' Tennis vs. North Posey, at South Spencer

    -Girls' Softball vs. Evansville Mater Dei, at South Spencer

    -Boys' Baseball vs. Mt. Vernon, at South Spencer

Tell City has cancelled all events and practices, including the following:

    -Boys' Baseball vs. Heritage Hills, at Tell City

    -Boys' Golf vs. Gibson Southern and Boonville, at Boonville

    -Boys' and Girls' Track & Field vs. Southridge, at Southridge

    -Girls' Softball vs. Southridge, at Southridge

Boonville has cancelled the following events with local teams:

    -Girls' Tennis vs. Southridge, at Southridge

    -Boys' Varsity Golf vs. Tell City, at Quail Crossing

    -Boys' Baseball vs. Pike Central, at Boonville

    -Girls' Track & Field vs. Washington, at Boonville

Area Baseball postponements: Forest Park @ Gibson So., Southridge vs. Tecumseh,  NE Dubois vs. Perry Central,  Pike Central @ Boonville,  Heritage Hills @ Tell City, New Albany vs. Castle.

All EVSC schools, Jeffersonville, and Providence high schools have also cancelled all sports events and practices for today. None of these three schools had events schedule with Dubois County teams.
