Alumni Club hosting Ball State Men's Basketball Coach Michael Lewis Meet & Greet tonight in Jasper

Jasper - Tonight in Jasper, the Ball State University Dubois County Alumni Club is hosting a free "Meet & Greet" with Jasper-native Michael Lewis, Head Coach of the Ball State Cardinals.


The free event is being held Thursday evening, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (ET) at St. Benedict's BrewWorks at the River Centre.

An informal gathering, the event is open to fans, friends, and family. A cash bar is available at BrewWorks.

The Alumni Club added the following background information on Lewis, and how to reserve a spot.


Coach Lewis is a native of Jasper and finished his high school career in 13th place on Indiana’s all-time high school scoring list with 2,138 career points at Jasper High School. 

After graduating JHS, he was a standout guard at Indiana University under head coach Bob Knight from 1997-2000. In 2022, Lewis became the 20th head coach in men’s basketball history. Prior to his arrival at Ball State, Lewis spent 18 seasons as an assistant coach, including three at UCLA. 

His coaching career also included stints at Nebraska, Butler, Eastern Illinois, Stephen F. Austin, and Texas Tech, as a Graduate Assistant, under Coach Bobby Knight.
