Actress Megan Kavanagh, Marla Hooch in 'A League of Their Own', Returns to League Stadium, joins Radio Broadcast

Huntingburg - A homecoming of sorts, actress Megan Kavanagh, who portrayed Marla Hooch in the film 'A League of Their Own', returned to League Stadium in Huntingburg for the first time since 1991 on Friday.

Kavanagh's return to the movie home of the Rockford Peaches after 33 years coincided with a home game for the Dubois County Bombers, a Prospect League baseball team which calls League Stadium home during the summer months.

The drive down First Street took the actress down memory lane.

"This movie changed my whole life," Kavanagh said. "Driving up to the stadium today was like opening up that old book, with all the chapters, of how my life changed. The sweating, the ballplaying, all of it."

On Friday evening, Kavanagh saw another first in the Prospect League. Outfielder Olivia Pichardo, Brown University, served as the Bombers' Designated Hitter. The first woman to play Prospect League baseball on the field which served as the movie home of women's baseball for many, seemed like a full-circle moment to Kavanagh.

After a pregame meet-and-great with hundreds of fans, Megan's gametime itinerary included two live interviews during inning breaks with Dubois County Bomber broadcaster Kris Norton.
