DeAndre Williams took an extra week but has finally decided where he will play. The 6'9 standout announced a six pm CDT on Instagram he would play for Coach Penny Hardaway and Memphis in the American Athletic Conference. Williams will have two years of eligibility remaining, It is not guaranteed he will be allowed to play next season because of NCAA transfer rules. His final four choices were Arkansas, Baylor, Kentucky and Memphis.
Jasper Youth Baseball President Jason Stamm announced Jasper Youth Baseball will have a limited season and will incorporate strict sanitary and social distancing guidelines. Little League International stated the season could not start till June 14th. Games could be started July 6th. Jason Stamm will join us on the Sports this Tuesday to explain more. WITZ-FM will be broadcasting select Jasper Youth League games this summer.
Anna Alstadt Southridge Senior Track and Volleyball standout has executed a National Letter of Intent to run Track at the University of Akron in Akron Ohio. Alstadt had many Volleyball and Track achievements at Southridge. In Volleyball she played in the East West Allstar match, tied a single match record for blocks and was the MVP with most kills and blocks. In Track she was all conference and Sectional 400 meter champion and has the school redord in the 400 meters. At Akron she will pursue a degree in Supply Chain/Operations Management.
