Man With Medical Issue Goes 90 MPH+ on Newton Street, Crashes into Trees

JASPER -- Jasper Police believe a man suffering an illness crashed into trees along Newton Street Monday afternoon.
Officers say the driver was approaching the intersection of 13th Street when he almost struck a stopped police vehicle.
The driver continued north with speeds in excess of 90 mph.
The vehicle went off of the roadway and struck two large trees before coming to a stop.
The driver was taken to Memorial Hospital. His vehicle is totaled.
Police say an undisclosed illness is believed to have caused the crash.
